The perfect middle ground between a single bed and double bed, the often-overlooked small double bed has the best of both worlds - all the cosiness of a snug single bed, with plenty of room to stretch out when you want to most. Who could ask for more?
Our small double beds are a perfect fit in any room with quirky or challenging dimensions; where a larger bed might swallow a room whole (sounds scary…), a small double bed will keep you in control of your room decor and still feel every bit as luxurious when you head to bed at night.
For any teenager growing up in a hurry, these are the ideal solution. All small double beds in the Cuckooland range are long-lasting and wide and enough to handle the spatial demands of a growing teen, with considered designs that won’t go out of style - no matter how much their tastes change.
Our selection is composed of only the best brands and we’ve worked tirelessly sourcing, researching and testing every single one of our stocked beds, so you can jump into your dream bed night after night knowing that the structure (and style) won't let you down. From contemporary canopy beds and timeless four-poster frames to fabulous wooden beds with solid headboards, every one of our products is part of our ever expanding quality collection of kids beds and is built to wow.
As a lesser known size in the bed family, we knew there might be a few questions from our inquisitive customers. We’ve gone away, done the math, and come back with the answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often from this product range.
Although the height and length of a small double bed can differ, the width is consistent across our range. Small double beds have a width measurement of 125cm, which roughly equates to 4ft. In comparison, a single bed typically measures 97cm in width, which equates to 3ft.
A tricky one to answer, as it will entirely depend on the people’s size and whether they’re fidgety or cosy sleepers... We’re not going to try and settle that debate though, so here are the facts. A double bed measures at 4ft 6” in width - a 6” increase over a small double bed. The difference is much smaller than moving from a single to a small double, so we think that many couples across the UK would probably struggle to sleep soundly in a small double bed. But if you're a couple that likes a little more closeness, then who are we to argue...
A small double bed is very easy to assemble yourself and it only starts to get a little tricky when the bed forms part of a stylish elaborate frame like the small double four poster canopy beds we sell from Lifetime Kids.
