For all the sprawlers, fidgeters, curlers and roll-arounders among us, this section is especially for you. A king size bed offers that extra bit of space for anyone who really wants to stretch out in bed and couples who can probably live without kicking each other all night (unintentionally that is).
As the centrepiece to any bedroom, it’s important you first choose a king size bed frame to set the tone of your decor choices. We have a range of contemporary and classic options, with materials including rustic woods for earthy, natural tones, sleek metal frames to create a modern vibe, and timeless upholstered designs offering a luxury feel - we’re sure you’ll find something to catch your eye and fall in love with.
The king size bed is one of the most popular choices of frame size for couples in the UK, providing the perfect balance of space and comfort. Size-wise, they occupy the space between the ever-popular double bed and the truly decadent super king size bed; many of our bed frames are available in a range of styles and sizes to ensure you can find the bed that best suits your needs.
We know that choosing your next bed is a tricky choice, so we’ve tried to make the process as easy as possible. Rather than you having to fire up another tab on Google and trawling through the internet, we’ve done the work for you! Below are some of the burning questions asked when it comes to king size beds.
Our UK king size beds can range from the following dimensions: length between 212cm and 250cm, height between 105cm and 129cm, width between 161cm to 168cm. Whilst the size will change between frames and brands, all will fit a standard 150cm x 200cm UK king size bed mattress. European king size bed sizes are very similar, however they require a European Mattress of 160cm x 200cm (which we also stock).
Whilst we can’t know for sure whether a king size bed is right for you - everyone is unique, after all - it stands out as one of the most popular choices in the UK for a reason. The size is perfect for couples of all shapes, sizes and sleeping positions, meaning that you can worry less about overcrowding your partner and simply enjoy a good night’s sleep. Furthermore, king size beds provide more room for storage, which can free up space around the rest of the room. Oh, and they’re great if you have small children or pets that like to sleep on the bed every now and again too!
Whilst the frame of a king size bed may differ slightly, a king size mattress will adhere to set dimensions. Please check whether your bed requires a UK King mattress measuring 150cm wide and 200cm long or a European King Size mattress measuring at 160 cm wide and 200 cm long, the mattress is longer than it is wide and isn’t quite a square shape. Always be sure to use the dimensions of the bed frame itself when measuring up in your room.
