Double Bed FAQ's

Even with the popularity that is the trusty double bed, we’re often asked a number of different questions. Below we’ve answered some of the questions keeping you (and us) up at night.

1. What is the size of a Double Bed?

A UK double bed in the Cuckooland collection can range from the following dimensions: length – from 200cm to 245cm, height – from 105cm to 130cm, width – from 146cm to 153cm. The size will differ between designs and manufacturers, but all will fit a standard 135cm x 190cm UK double mattress. A European double is very similar in measurement - from 213cm to 218cm length and 145cm to 145.5cm width and requires a mattress size of 140cm x 200cm (which we stock too). 

2. Are Double Beds and Full Beds the same?

These terms are often used interchangeably, and it is generally accepted in the industry that double beds and full beds are the same. This means that any beds you see called ‘full beds’ will meet the same size specifications of a double bed.

3. Can two adults sleep on a Double Bed?

Absolutely. A double bed is a popular choice for couples nationwide; it’s plentiful space offers adequate comfort for the majority of partners, and it will fit in smaller rooms without difficulty. If you’re unsure whether a double bed is big enough, we recommend considering a king size bed as the next option.
